French & Wine Festival in Bordeaux

If the words Medoc, Saint-Émilion, Merlot or Sauvignon make you shiver with pleasure, this program is made for you!

Bordeaux is quite simply the leading wine region in the world with 118,000 ha of vines, bordering the Atlantic. It produces half of all the great French wines. Indeed the French vineyard produces 3240 different wines for 1313 different denominations (46 only in the Bordeaux Region) in 80 departments and 16 major vineyards.

On the occasion of the Wine Festival, we offer you an immersion and discovery of this exceptional French and world-renowned product, accompanied by a representative of our school.

The program at a glance

International House Bordeaux offers you in this program:

16 general French lessons per week
A cultural sheet to play a treasure hunt in the city with educational support (lexicon, historical content, etc.) to explore a district, a museum, typical places in the region
A visit to a vineyard accompanied by a representative of our IH Bordeaux school
An entry pass for three days at the “Bordeaux fête le Vin” Festival including a local event rich in tastings, experiences and meetings with wine merchants, restaurants and local producers, concerts and a magnificent fireworks display on the quays of the Place des Quinconces
An access to our Online School with a virtual visit and a thematic meeting.

General French – 16 lessons per week

Do you want to be fluent in French? International House Bordeaux is the ideal place! We have courses for all levels, from beginner A2 to advanced B2.

You will have 16 lessons of 45 minutes each week, spread over 4 days (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) in the morning. The objective is to immerse you in a French-speaking environment to enable you to get by on a daily basis.

You will be placed in a group of similar level after an oral test on Monday morning. And when you leave, you will receive a certificate which will mention the number of courses taken and the level of French reached.

And in addition to face-to-face courses, we also offer 4 courses: 2 virtual visit courses and 2 online thematic meeting courses.

You may be required to buy pedagogical material (books). Prices vary according to your level.

our objectives

International House Bordeaux has developed an online level test to ensure the formation of homogeneous classes, which you will have to pass before your arrival.

On the first day of class, an oral evaluation will be organized for:

validate your oral level,
check that your level has not changed since the written test,
identify your expectations and needs.

Classes are limited to a maximum of 12 students to promote exchanges and interactions during class.

The teacher will endeavor to meet your linguistic needs to define and plan his course. To get the most out of your French learning, your commitment is essential.

Our practical pedagogical approach aims to make you independent during your stay in France, by allowing you to understand simple messages and respond to them in a relevant way.

Weekly assessments in all classes will be put in place to measure your progress and ensure the effectiveness of your learning. If necessary, the teacher can adjust his teaching or offer you personalized tutoring.

At the end of your stay, you will receive a certificate of attendance and participation indicating the number of hours of lessons attended and your level of French reached.
